External combustion. This started as a ballpoint pen drawing on 8 1/2" x 11" paper and soon continued into a pencil and ink drawing of a face in the process of exploding. Once I had finished the face, I decided I had to keep going. I converted what was going to be a street scene of the building my band used to practice in into the basis for a body that I could set the face onto. I added in some other elements to fill it out and once completed, the drawing provided a very good insight into two years of my life. This is probably my favorite drawing that I have ever done. The original is 20" x 30", illustration board and paper, ballpoint pen, permanent ink, and pencil.
